Bharath Sanchar Nigam Limitted,Kerala Circle Proposes to  recruit  outstanding  sports persons (Men only)  for the  following  posts  during the year 2004-05 as per the details given below:-

(1).Telecom Technical Assistant (2).Sr.Telecom Office Assistant (Genl)

(3)..Driver (Ordinary Grade) (4).Telecom Mechanic (5).Regular Mazdoor/Peon.

Games in which recruitment is proposed and number of persons to be recruited for each game.

Basket Ball-4, Kabadi-2,

AGE LIMIT.  Age limit for recruitment will be 18  to  25  years on 28-2-2005. In exceptional cases of merit, relaxation upto a maximum of 5 years in the upper age limit will be considered.

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION. The sports persons selected for appointment to a post should have attained the minimum educational  qualification prescribed for the post.

The posts to which appointment will be considered, pay scales and the minimum qualifications prescribed for them are given below. (The pay scales shown are the pay scales of the company based on  Industrial DA (IDA).

Post.(i). Telecom Technical Assistant       Pay Scale : 7100-200-10100.

Minimum Educational Qualification : Three years Engineering Diploma in Telecommunication Engg./Electronics Engg./Electrical Engg./Radio Engg./Computer Engg./Instruments Technology / M.Sc (Electronics) from a recognized Institution /University.

Post-(ii). Sr.Telecom Operating Assistant (Genl).    Pay Scale : 5700-160-8100.

Minimum Educational Qualification : (1) Degree of a recognized University or equivalent.

(2). Diploma Certificate in Computer application programming duly recognized  by the Dept.of Electronic, Govt.of India or equivalent  with speed of 8000 depression per hour for data entry.

Post. (iii). Driver (Ordinary Grade) :          Pay Scale : 4720-150-6970

Minimum Educational Qualification:  8^th Std Pass and Driving Licence for light and heavy motor.

Post. (iv) : Telecom Mechanic :      Pay Scale  4720-150-6970

Minimum Educational Qualification :

1.     Possessing qualification of 10^th Std or equivalent  from a recognized Board/University. 2. Should posses  a Trade certificate after completing two years training course in Electronics/Instruments Techonology/Electricals/Diesel Mechanic/Radio Mechanic, after 10^th Std from an Industrial Training Institute (ITI) or on Equivelent Institution run by the State/Central Government.

Post. (v) : Regular Mazdoor/Peon :      Pay Scale : 4000-120-5800

Minimum Educational Qualification : 8^th Standard Pass.

Minimum Sports Norms required for Posts (i)  to  (iv)  above.

        Sports Persons should have represented as a member of Jr./Sr. team in prestigious International Tournaments. Such persons must have also medal winning performance in  National Championships. (OR) should have  represented Zonal team within the country and obtained at least  3^rd position in inter-zonal Championship  at All India level. (OR) Should have represented a state in National Championship in Jr/Sr section and obtained at least 3^rd position in individual or 4^th position in team event. (OR) Should have represented University in All India inter University Championship and obtained at least 2^nd position in individual event or 3^rd position in team game. (OR) Should have represented State School team in National School Games and obtained Ist position in individual or team games.

Minimum Sports Norms required for  post (v) above.

          Should have represented state school/University/State Jr. or Sr. Team in National School games/Inter University championship Jr./Sr. National Meets.

For recruitment  to posts in the above categories, achievements in sports as mentioned above should be in the immediate preceding  two years of the date of this notification  and the sports person should be an active  player now also. Eligible candidates will have to undergo selection trials for assessment of performance in the respective events.

The Original sports certificate will have to be got  authenticated by the respective authorities like DPI, Director of Physical Education of University, Secretary Kerala Sports Council etc…Attested copies of such certificates only will be considered.

Sports persons fulfilling the above eligibility conditions and belonging to the State of Kerala and Lakshadweep may submit their application and bio-data in the given proforma typed in A4 size paper with attested copies of certificates in support of age, educational qualification  and  achievements in sports by registered post so as to reach  The Assistant General Manager (R&E),O/O the Chief General Manager Telecom,BSNL,Kerala Circle,Trivandrum-695033 on or before 28-2-2005.( In the case of applications from Lakshadweep before 15-03-2005). Two self addressed envelopes affixing postage stamp of Rs.5.00 each may also be enclosed  alongwith the application.

The envelope  containing the application should be  superscribed in bold letters,as“Application for Recruitment of Outstanding Sports Persons “. Application received after the last date will not be considered.
