Kerala Telecommunications Circle has been segmented into eleven Secondary Switching Areas (SSA) and each SSA is further divided into several Short Distance Charging Areas (SDCA) for call charging.  The SSAs are  Trivandrum, Quilon, Pathanamthitta, Kottayam, Alappuzha, Ernakulam, Thrissur, Palakkad, Kozhikkode, Cannanore, Malappuram and Lakshadweep.
